Inside, I’m totally smitten. There’s original beadboard and wainscot all over the place, and that mid-stair landing is such a lovely touch. My favorite spot is the living room, hands down. It has a big fireplace, a bay window, and just the kind of character you want in a house like this. I wouldn’t even touch most of the colorful paint. I think it adds to the charm, and it gives the house a little personality.
The bathroom has been updated, which is nice, but the clawfoot tub next to that oversized tile shower feels a little like a design compromise. There’s also some ceiling damage above the sink that looks like it could be water-related. Something to check out before diving in too deep.
There are a couple of outbuildings, including a carport and a “storage barn” with power. The barn has multiple access points and a big sliding door, so you could turn it into just about anything. Workshop, studio, goat palace — the options are wide open.
The lot itself is mostly wooded, so if you’re dreaming of wide open pastures, you’ll need to clear some trees. I did spot a little fenced area on the satellite that looks like it could be a starter garden or a spot for chickens or small livestock.
If you’re the kind of person who gets excited about restoring old homes and shaping your own space, this one could be a gem. It’s got good bones, character for days, and just enough quirks to make it interesting.
