A Lifelong Love for Real Estate

I’ve been captivated by real estate for as long as I can remember. Is it the decor? The challenge of finding something within budget? Dreaming about what’s out of reach? I’m not entirely sure, but I do know I’ve spent countless hours browsing real estate listings.

My Obsession with Small Farms

For the past decade, my focus has been on small farms. I can lose myself for hours looking at barns, analyzing satellite images of land, and imagining all the possibilities. Will I need to build more infrastructure? Is the property move-in ready? Can I start small with a garden and chickens, then expand over time?

My Quarter-Acre Homestead: Making the Most of a Small Space

Right now, I live on just a quarter-acre lot. It’s not much, but I’ve made the most of it. I grow enough produce year-round for my husband and me—fresh or preserved. I keep chickens, so we always have eggs. I even raised rabbits for a time to supplement our meat supply.

But there are challenges:

• The kitchen is too small.
• I can’t have any livestock larger than a rabbit.
• The neighbors are too close.
• There are too many yappy little dogs.
• The road is just 20 feet from my bedroom window—and it’s loud.

Searching for Our Forever Farm

Now, we’re ready for an adventure—to find our forever home. We don’t know where it will be yet or even how much land we need. But as we search, I’ll be sharing listings, my thoughts on them, and what I do and don’t like.
